After the radiator, otherwise, what's the point? Depends what's in your price range as far as the type of cooler. Consider the factory one, as small as it is, keeps guys around 180 degrees according to the dash. If you don't have a cooler, you'll need adapter fittings, can't remember who makes them but I have them at home in the package. The adapter fittings go from the clip style to a -6 AN fitting.

Radiator acts like a warmer up until trans temp equals coolant temp. But after that its a fluid to fluid cooler which is very good at transferring heat. I prefer for my trans to run under coolant temp (i also live in the south) so I generally run them independently with a dedicated fan on a switch. I also monitor temps with a gauge and pan mounted sensor. You'd be surprised how much the little 8/10/12 inch ebay fans can do.

Default cooler

that thread was totally useless for me.
no factory cooler, no 80e, diff rad hookup.
just 2 lines going into the bottom of my rad.
same type of rad clip in fittings.
