Default Trans Brake or 2-Step?

About to get a Stage 4 4L80E from Jake's Performance. I was wondering what you guys preferred.... Go ahead and get the trans brake installed or just go with the MSD 2-Step? Need to build boost either way.

Thanks!

I think foot braking while using a 2-step would be fun. But the brakes will only hold back so much power.

trans brakes are very hard on your drivetrain so if you DD it or have stock parts behind the transmission, go with a 2step. I can build 6psi with my 2step at 3000rpm

I love my Jakes Probrake. If i get off my butt i'll prob add a 2-step. but now with the brake i can build 6-7lbs, where before i could onky do 1-2 on footbrake with hydroboost.

I would say both if you are considering a trans brake. Reason being is with the two step and on the brake we are trying to keep the heat down in the trans. This is something that has been done with power glides, th400, C6, TF-8 and other transmissions for years. I will say make sure to keep an eye on the trans temps and also try not to stay on the brake to long because you will hurt the pump in that trans.

The cooler the better. In most cases I would say temps should be between 140-190*.

I was thinking about eventually doing a 2 step. Mainly for the sound but the off the line consistency would be awesome.

Installing a MSD8733 is easier than picking up the phone and ordering one too!
