Default tranny question

I'm new here but I have a question for ya'll. My truck is a 2ooo 2wd 4.8 with a few bolt ons. While I was coming home from work the tranny would not shift out of 1st gear this lasted about 40 or so miles then it started shifting through the other gears just fine. I have had it rebuilt with all hardend parts and the beast sun shell and the red bands or clutches, corvette sevo. So I think it is a hard part it just would not shift. So what do ya'll think it could be. rebuild? the last time it was rebuilt it lasted about 100,000 miles, this time it only had about 30,000. I need some advice.

thanks soltakr02

Did the shop clean/replace the pressure relief in the pump? I've heard the #1 cause of failure after rebuild is failure to clean this spring and ball which gets really gummy until it sticks and the converter can't release its pressure.

I'm not sure. The same shop rebuilt it the first time thats why I went back to them, but now they are out of business. I did not have any trouble out it for 100,000 miles which is what I got out of it before it was rebuilt. Do you think a good flush would fix it ,or a rebuild is in order?
