I see that all you guys got your thumbnails from Tire Racks web site.
I found the 295/ 45/ 20 the same day.
The Continental Sport Contact would be a better tire due to it's tire specs.
I've been working with tires over 5 years. Know a little bit about the specs on the tires.
Just not knowledgable about every different size out there, but give me the specs & a pic of the tire and I can tell you what and how the tire will drive in rain, dry, cold weather, hot weather, snow, ice, how long it will last compared to another tire's specs, the traction, and so on.
The 285/ 50/ 20 should look good at that drop. Wouldn't try any larger in the front. The 295/ 45/ 20 "may" rub a bit on the front plastic splash guards (due to increase in the width) and will probably show more of a fender gap (due to the lower profile). Just compare both both rolling diameter specs.
The 295/ 45/ 20 tire's rolling diameter will be about 30.4-30.5" (different tire brands vary a tad)
The 285/ 50/ 20 tire's rolling diameter will be about 31.2".
Therefore, the 285/ 50/ 20 will fill the fender wells up a little more than the 295/ 45/ 20.

How wide can I go without rubbing?
295/45/20 Or 265/50/20 ?
I don't want to rub when turning, and when or if I bottom out. I don't want to go any higher than 31" tall tire, or any lower than 29.5" tall.
Any recomendations??

I'm running both!! 295 in back and 265 up front. You should not run the 295/45 on that 8"rim - you need a wider rim. with the proper backspacing, the 295 will fit in front and clear everything while at rest. But I think during driving conditions it will rub the stabilizer bar and inside top fender under stress.
The 285/50, IMO, is too tall for a 2WD - better suited on a 4WD. The 265/50 will look fine all the way around with your specified. wheel.
If you really want to go wide - you will have to get more customizable wheels.

265/50/20 - BFG, Toyo, Goodyear, Falken all make tires in this size. I run Toyos in this size, same wheels, same drop, same truck.

I have one of the tire from the rear that shows the relationship between the edge of the tire and the edge of the rear quarter panel at home. The side wall is basically flush with or inside the edge of the fenderwell 1/2".

There is also the 275/ 45/ 20. It fits nice with drops as well.
Check out the TBC Vengeance Sport tires. They look pretty cool.
I believe that only NTB sells them.
Don't think they have a pic of them on their web-site though.
The pic can possibly be found through just a search through the web.

This is a pic of it, just has a different name on it. But it looks exactly the same.
