Default Th400 anyone?

Is anyone running a th400 in there truck? I'm asking because I'm considering one over a 80e. Stronger, lighter, and cheaper. I lose over drive but my truck isn't a daily driver, and it's one less thing the tuner has to mess with. A fmvb would be fun. The weight to me is the biggest part. I think atomic said his 80e was 230 pounds? A th400 is 140, that's a lot less rotating mass. What do you guys think?

i did the nv3500 swap to a th400 and love it. don't think there any stronger than a 4l80, but they are lighter. i wouldn't recommend any more than 3.42 gear tho. its really cranking down the highway. only drive about 1000 miles a year, so no big deal for me. feels much faster w/400 over the 5 speed. install is very simple. speedo was the biggest issue. built TCI th400 manual valve body is what i went with. 3500 stall.

yes, they can handle tons of power for pretty cheap. loving shifting gears w/o clutch. worried i'd miss the 5 speed, but i don't at all.
