I used to have a th400 in my truck after my nv3500. I never had a vss signal but i didn't keep the th400 for long. It is a great tranny and can handle tons of power but I couldn't stand that it didn't have overdrive. I had 4.10's and it would wind pretty high on the freeway. No chance for a road trip ever. I went from there to a 700r4 and then to a 4l80e. The 80e is my favorite so far.

i spliced into a wheel sensor. it took some tuning to get it to read right. got to play w/tire size and gear ratio until its accurate. might end up w/ 7.50 gear ratio to get it there.

can't imagine 4.10 gears, i feel like i'm cranking w/3.42's. my converter's pretty loose which doesn't help either.
