live by this or you will take out the pump, trust me i used a art carr tc without proper spacing it took out the tranny pump!!

great thread.... but he states
"If the gap is greater than .187" install a .060" flat washer between the torque converter and flexplate."

even if i use the .060 washer, the length of the bolts will hit the block..
do i just byuild it up with washers...

or should i just go buy a new egdge verter.... and call it good...

I wouldn't use any washers. It's a poor product if it doesnt fit properly

Just pulling this outta my ***. but you could get Shorted grade 8 bolts.

Those bolts came with the verter and still too long for the verter?

i just took this one i got out... and its about 3/8 of inch shorter...

so i guess i'll get the harley ready to ride next week,
i gotta order something this week.... guess i;'ll look into circle d... maybe go for a 3200 stall... i dunno... too pissed off to think... lol

So is the bolt going in so far that it's hitting the back of the converter or is it tightening prematurely?

ok... i pulled the carr converter out this morning...
set it side by side with the stock.... there maybe a 1/16th difference.....
but the bungs on the carr are not tapped all the way thru...
so it looks like a shorter bolt will be the fix....
is this pretty common?
