I've looked inot it and figured out two way's to do it. the divoreced option is the easiest and what I was going to try. I was going to run a divoreced np205 transfer. btw you will need a older ford divoreced transfer if your going to do this because the older chevy's had the front output on the wrong side.the divoreced 205 can be found ford's f250-350's 76-78 in some of the trucks.
the other option is do have a custom shaft made to mate the output of the t-56 to the input of the transfer. then either have a custom ring welded to the rear of the t-56 to bolt up the tansfer or have a custom made tail housing.
the reason I've never completed the swap was the t-56 did not meet the requirnments for what I needed. the t-56 is built for 450lb torque in a much lighter car. the added weight would not have helped the tranny any.in a street ony truck that wasn't ofroaded much or towed a lot of weight I believe it would hold up nicly though. I tow a lot and am going to upgrade to a much more powerful motor then stock later in the game so I went with the nv4500.
as it was said eirlier people do come in saying they are going to firgure this out and are doing it and never do. the main reason is it's not going to be a real cheap swap and involes a bite of work and research to over come some of the problem's. good luck and I hope you finish it.
