Default stupid noob leveling question

been lurking on here for a few months after purchasing my first truck. so please bear with me

i have 5 maybe 6 threads showing on my drivers side tbar bolt. i need to go up 1.5 for it to be level. should i invest in new keys instead of cranking my old ones. thought i read somewhere that one crank equals about 1/4in.

also why do you want to jack up the front end when cranking? does it take stress off everything and make it easier to crank up

i know, do a search, im sure someone one is going to say it

IMO Get a lift spindle or lift keys..And then adjust +/- 1" with torsions..
-And yes, lifting the wheels off the ground will make cranking easier
Good Luck!

If you've never done it just do some research it's not that hard. They make a tool for but honestly oin the cheap go down to oriellys or autozone and rent a 5-7 ton puller and it will work fine. hook it on the crossmember and wrench it down to take the pressure off then back the key bolt out and then unload the puller and bam your good to go... If you dont feel safe doing it then dont cause you can lose some fingers or worse if something fails during loading and unloading

Good luck man

What this guy said.

A buddy and I put a rough country leveling kit on mine which comes with shocks, rear blocks, u-bolts, and new torsion keys on my truck in 3-4 hours. It's really simple.
If I was you though I would just crank your stock keys and see where that gets you, if you want more then go buy a leveling kit.

It will cause positive camber. It just depends on how bad the camber to how long you could drive like that. IMO just wait on the keys
