stall questions for guys with 3k + stall's
its a long story but my question is when you have a 3000 stall or higher do you feel the shifts under light throttle?
my trans use to shift on the firm side when i had a 1800 stall, i installed a edge racing 3200 stall and 40 mile later do to problems I pulled the engine then the truck just sat for 4.5 years I got it back together this year had it tuned straight from the dyno I trailer'd it to the track 2nd pass the trans tail housing cracked in 2 so I just got it all back together but if you dont watch the rpm gauge or really listen you cant tell it shifts under light throttle so since i never really drove it with the stall I'm unsure if the trans is acting up or that's the way it is with a stall????
its a 700r4

The ~3800 rpm converter I used to have softened part throttle shifts tremendously. It wasn't slipping, but the hard shift was soaked up by the converter. Sometimes you couldn't even tell/hear it shifted gears, it almost seemed like a CVT transmission haha.
If you have any doubts, check the fluid and do a data log with a scanner and see what's going on.
Here's a video of part throttle from a while back.

Tune it. Up the psi. I've had 3200 to 4000 stalls. You can tell! Part throttle is when it soaks up the feels. What is strong on stock is barely noticeable on high stall. That is when the tune comes in. I just had my psi uped, and I am actually going to turn it up a good bit more for part throttle. 15% or more throttle and I'm letting up anyways. It will up shift to 1st.... Lol

I've been messing with the TV cable but really didnt get any where with it, when I put it together I used the governor from the used trans since the gear on mine was shot that didn't work to well was shifting @WOT just before 5k and not shifting in to 3rd so last night I put a new gear on my governor stuck it in and shifts are back up to around 6k @WOT and now shifting in to 3rd
just not use to the stall I guess, mushy shifts when not full throttle I might look in to having it turned up see if it does any thing? this is not a computer controlled trans just the lockup is controlled by a stand alone unit
