Default stall help

i finally got the money for a stall but got some questions..

i have a 2001 4.8 rcsb with 216/220 114a comp cam
i also have 342 but have 410 in the house

whats the best stall fore me?

will this chage my 40mph dead zone?

will i need a tranny cooler?

and last does anyone have times on how much the stall helped.

thanks Robert

yeh if you could get traction, and yes a tranny cooler is required. get a hayden from oreilleys. Id say 2800-3000 stall would be fine.

well it all depends on the cam size and a few other things, im not sure how to narrow it down that far im sure somebody else will chime in. i would think the 3400 would be badass but i duno about street manners. it also depends on what brand converter it is.

Whith the 4.10's in place and that cam I would stay with a 2600-3000rpm stalled torque converter, UNLESS it is not your daily driver then a 3200 rpm stall mightfit nicely.
You will want an aftermarket trans cooler for sure.
Times drop about ~.4 seconds but traction is more difficult to maintain

If you go with much over a 3000 rpm stall you will find that partial throttle is less exciting, slipping all over town. Most of the street trucks stay in the 2600-3200 range.
