something we don't deal with often here....
I'm driving a 2015 ECLB 2500HD 4WD gasser for work. It has a small service bed on it but I've got it severely packed with tools. The torsion bars were cranked when I got the truck but alignment was done so that's fine, I just need to get the back of the truck up and level. The truck already has the stock HD leafs and a set of Super Springs that bolt on top of the leaf, And I've ordered a set of 5,000lb helper bags that will mount inside the frame rail (this truck was not a cab/chassis)
My question is, has anyone ever used a small lift block in conjunction with a helper bag? My thinking is that the block will help level the truck and the bag will just help support it. In my experience, if you run enough air in the bags that they actually hold the truck up several inches, the ride quality goes to hell. I drive this thing 1500mi a week, can't have that. That's why I'm considering the block/bag setup.

Got the bags put in today, they leveled the truck at 95psi of the 100psi max pressure. I adjusted the super springs to their firmest setting and was able to take about 15psi out of the bags but the end result is the truck rides like a damned pogo stick.... The bags have plenty of extension, I'll be ordering a lift block in short order, as well as the stiffest shock they make to fit under this bitch.

The problem with something like that is getting the company to pay for it. They use 3/4 ton trucks to avoid DOT BS, I've got way more junk than a 3/4 ton can safely carry lol. I had it all in a 5500 dodge with beefed up suspension on dual 19.5's... And have crammed most of it on this one. I hate getting to a job and not having what I need.
I drove it earlier since adjusting the overloads and letting a little air out and it is better. I agree, a real shock is what it needs. I wonder if someone makes something for a rigged out dually that would work? At this point with everything combined, I think I have enough spring rate, now I just don't have near enough dampening.
The next weakest link will be the 10ply rubber. Hopefully we don't have to cross that bridge. The truck is (over?)loaded, but still feels like it has enough power to go anywhere. I've climbed some steep inclines on loose rock trails and it's done fine, the weight seems to help off-road as long as it's not muddy. At that point, things go south in a hurry though

True, but a larger bag in "kit" form isn't happening. I spoke with someone at Bilstien and they have something for me to try for dampening. They have experience with similar issues.
I have struck a happy medium where it is now, but it still needs more shock.
