slicks vs. drag radials
#1
took my truck to the local 1/8 mile track today and found me needing some traction aids even tho its stock. i got on the phone and got a hold of 2 spare tire rims (stock 16 size) but now im trying to decide what to wrap them in. i would only use them at the track and would take them on and off their. my current stock size is 245/75 16. i wanna move up to a 255 for a little extra bite. im trying to get the truck ready for when i get a tune, heads and cam swap as well as 4.10s and a locker.
thanks, abel

If there going to only be for track use, then go with some full slicks. Theyll bite harder..and im pretty sure stock wheels could handle a wider tire then that. So id go with something wider.

A drag radial will be faster than a slick at the track if you get it to hook, the best would be a stiff was slick. it acts like a radial and launches like a slick.
also a drag radial will get shitty if driven on the street, it messes with the side wall.
