Default Single or Triple Disk Converter?

Im to the point where i will be choosing a converter for my 4l80e and im stuck between what type.... what i have is a 5000lb truck and will be a 408 pt88 boosted around 15-20#'s with 3400 stall shooting for 900-1000 hp, anyone know any benefits of either converter? I went to a trans place locally where a guy has 20 yrs experience on building them and he said single disk is the way to go due to thicker clutches, less rotating mass, and less things to go wrong.... but in my mind more clutches seems to be better, can anyone elaborate on this for me!! any suggestions or past experiences welcome thanks!

seems like you got a nice setup, talk to the people in the know like chris cirlce-d, dave at yank, even precission industries.. i run a triple disc for the simple fact i run the 1320 and lock up the tc during runs, you may not need this pending on the use of truck

I just asked Chris @ Circle D the same question. He recommended a triple disc 258mm to me.

I suggest the Multi when FI. It opens up more options that the single lacks. Lock up on Dyno, towing, durability and WOT lock up. Even if you don't plan to use all of them, they are there if you need them. Any questions just shoot me an "Ask Chris" or give me a call.

I talked with chris just the other day about a 5c converter or maybe even a 230mm . He was very helpful and while i am not going to lock at wot, i was concerned about having a lil room to put a 150 on the lil 4.hate. He answered all my questions and wasn't pressuring or pushing into something i didnt want. I will be going with a 5c 245mm 4400 stall and Ill be talking to you in about a week Chris!
