Default Shipping a 4L65E

I am looking at having a 4L65E shipped and would like to do it using my DHL account but I am limited to 150 pounds. The trans is out of a 4X4 Suburban/Yukon XL.

First, does anybody know what a does a 4L65E weigh dry with the bell housing and tail shaft adapter removed?

Second, what would the length/height and width be would it be with the bell housing and tail shaft removed?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think suburbans or yukons ever came with the 4l65e? Only denalis/escalades and SSS's

GM has done some odd things.....the code on the tranny is right for a 4L65. He said Yukon/Suburban but it could have been a Denali......

Regardless, for the price it's worth it even if it's an L60, I just need to know if I can get it shipped.

It will be under 150LBS not sure on the actual weight. Make sure you have whoever is shipping it put it in plastic tub and pack the **** out of it. Also make sure they mark which end is up. I personally would not want to take a chance shipping it this way. I have seen 50-75lb packages get destroyed using the dhl of ups. I personally would put it on skid using ratcheting straps and ship truck freight. Hope this helps. Vince

Just make sure you insure it, then if something happens you at least have the money for a new one. That is my opinion anyway.

Thanks again Vince.......you seem to know a few things about these tranny's, what do you do this for a living or something. Per your previous reply regarding the code the tranny is a 1KZD which I'm assuming would be a 2001 version of a 4L65.

Insured is the only way to go. I had UPS break the caps off of a 9" nodular Iron center section that was going into my drag car.......Hard to believe they can stand up to 2000 hp but UPS can find a way to destroy it.

FWIW regarding truck freight I've had great luck with R&L carriers, fast, cheap and they haven't destroyed anything.....yet
