Question shift kit or No?

I have a lowered 03 Z-71 with 295/40/20 tires. Equiped with 3.73 posi, my question, is it worth it to do a shift kit or not? i wouldnt mind catching a second every now and then but it is my daily driver right now and i dont want to break **** all the time. My tranny guy tells me to start with a new solenoid in the valve body and crank up the throttle pressure, but someone else is telling me that i wont be happy with that. So, shift kit or No?

thanks to everyone,

BudnikSS

Another lowered Z71?? Crazy, lol.
Yes. Do the shift kit, servo too. Transgo HD2 with only one washer. Add a good conveter and tranny cooler and your good!

I put in the vette servo and shift kit with one washer. I also drilled the separator plate holes one size larger as instructed in the HD-2 shift kit for the medium setting. It shifted so hard it rattled the dash. I have since removed the vette servo and removed the washer. Now it shifts firm but not to harsh. I can still bark the tires when I get on it.

Yeah shift kit is cool, im running 2 washers. Yes it does kick shifting to 2nd but it is some what controllable with the throttle. I figured 1 washer would have been to soft, maybe i'll try one washer sometime.

If you crank the line pressure up, you will feel it on all the upshifts but you will also feel it when you downshift. Thats get annoying fast. You slow down to stop for a stop light and it feels like someone hits you in the a$$.

Thanks for all the answers, but now im finding out about the torque managment that is going to have to be reprogramed. Does that mean I will have to buy the programer or can i take it to a tune shop and let them do it?
