$175 plus the cost of the filter and fluid. sound like a good deal?

Sounds high to me.

My opinion is just keep the trans stock. I firmly believe that a lot of times when people tear into the trans they do more harm than good. A lot of times the stock trans outlasts a "built" one. I also believe that the trans settings have a lot to do with the longevity of the trans. According to several on here, my 143k mile 60e should have blown up in 2 weeks behind the 6.0, still doing fine 1 year 8k miles later. Another way to look at it (which is how I looked at it) is that that's $175 toward a built trans or 4l80e.

oregon performance transmissions on ebay has them for $103 + 9 bucks for shipping

I paid $180 for install, fluid, filter, and 1-2 accumulator. sounds about right, maybe a little high
