Sent my 4L60E to TransBuilderGuy

Robert's theory is when the pump rotor originally broke, he sent me a Billet rotor and new pump. I took the trans to a local transmission shop for them to swap them. They swapped the pumps, cleaned the pan and changed the filter. Robert found that a shallow pan filter was used and caused the issue. Because the shallow pan filter was used it lost prime, jumped outta gear, caught prime and slammed back into gear destroying the rear planetary gears. All the clutches, bands, and metals look great.
Robert has been calling and texting me daily to keep me updated on the progress. Hes hoping to have it back together and shipped back to me next week.

How do you screw up the filter??? They obviously arent a very good trans shop...shallow pan filter and deep pan filter are typically quite different!!! i have another question, why didnt you replace the pump yourself?

That sucks and seems to be amateur mistake, like wolf said, two different filters.
So, is the shop who installed the parts responsible for the malfunction? Since they installed the wrong filter?

Installed and feels good. I havent laid into it because I have a new turbo and IC setup so Ill have the tuner keep an eye on things.
I plan on making good power and well see how the trans likes it.

Awesome, anxious to see how everything turns out. Especially what power levels you end up being at, since my stock 60e just decided to lay down (suprised it lasted as long as it did frankly lol).
