Default ride height

I am sorry if this is beat to death - I searched and can't find any strait answers.

I want to level the stance of my truck (02 4WD). I found some Adjustable (1" to 2") drop shackles on ebay for $50. Says it drops the rear - Is this what I need to accomplish my goal and does it ruin the ride at all?

I hear about the torsion key thing but I'm not sure what that does? If you want to educate me, please do.

Thanks guys - I am new to trucks and 4wd.

what do you want to do? raise the front...or lower the rear? let's start there first.

You can remove the stock 2" blocks to lower the rear.
May need new Ubolts?

is this what everyone does or do most people raise the front? I know it depends on preference and such. I guess I am asking what pros and cons (if any) there are to leveling the truck either way? It is a 4wd but I am not into mudding, just some snow i the winter.

What are 2" shackles for if all you have to do is remove blocks to lower the rear 2"?

Shackles can be used to lower the rear as well. The reason that there are shackles is because the 2wd trucks do not have blocks in the rear. Like said, it is preference if you want to raise the front, or lower the rear, just depends on the look you like. I don't know much about torsion suspension, but if I am correct raising the front that way would make the ride stiffer. Removing the blocks, or adding shackles will not change the ride though.

does anyone know if removing the blocks limits the amount of weight you can put in the bed?

Doesnt effect it as far as I know. Bascially when you take the blocks out its a 2wd rear.

just remove the blocks and put them on top the axle so you can still use your stock 4wd u-bolts.
