Default question about tightening suspension

I've had the hotckis 2/4 drop for probably 6 years now and have driven a lot of miles since. i'm really starting to notice when i hit bumps or potholes that i'm hearing a lot of rattles from the underside. is that normal?

is there somewhere i could take it to have tightened up. would a shop that does front end alignments be able to take care of this? i really don't have time or the resources to be able to do this.

Any shop would be able to do that. Any area of the truck that rattles or just over all? Whens the last time you had any work done on your truck?

i had the front end aligned probably 2 years ago. i really can't tell the where the sound is coming from. I'll be driving with the windows down and i'll hit a bump and it just sounds like it is rattling everywhere underneath. if anything i would say maybe more of the noise is coming from the front end.

I agree with Red04Silverado, just take it to your local shop and tell them to tighten everything up.

all sorts of things have bushings under there that could wear out over time. I think I read a thread on here about some guys u-bolts coming a bit loose too causing rattling.

I'd take a Saturday and crawl under there looking for worn out (physically deteriorated or dry and cracked) bushings, boots, etc. Maybe even put the truck on stands and verify the torque on end links, shocks, leaf spring bolts, shackle bolts, u-bolts, etc. You never know...

When you take it to the shop to have everything tighten up, just ask the tech to look at your bushings just to make sure. To bad you dont live around here, Id do it for you. PathfinderJr is right about the Ubolts. Have those tighten to.

Well i tried to do a better job of locating the noise and it sounds more like the rear end is making the rattling noises. a friend suggested it might be the muffler making the noise but it happend going over a speed bump and the front end sounds fine but when the rear end went over the bump thats when i heard the rattling. Well i'm going to try and check it out this weekend. Thanks for the suggestions....
