alright, my dad has a 01 tahoe with about 150k on it.

the probelm is the rear end is completely locked up

has ANYONE ever had a G80 lock up on them and not unlock , ive never heard of it

we're hoping it just needs some more fluid in the rear

any suggestions

 

Mine unlocked when i put it in reverse and turned back and forth.... Could be fried though. Better locked up then blown up, less parts to replace (hopefully).

 

or worser then that locking up and taking out the tranny as a result?

 

i told him not to drive it until we can take a look at it - its a 2nd/3rd vehicle and doenst have to be driven, and hasnt been driven much at all lately, so im hoping some fluid leaked out

 

anyone know anything?

we added about a quart and a half of gear oil

and its still does it, i need a new g80 dont i

I think there is a guy selling one in the classifieds for $100.... or you could just go ahead and do what everybody else is doin.... .Eaton LSD or TruTrac?

 

it would be gettin a eaton lsd if we were keeping it but we are just getting everything working right so we can sell it, dads sellin off all unnecessary cars to get a c5
