I have been runnig stock sized front shock and no bump stops up front on my 3" coil drop up front for over 4 years with NO problems. As for the rear, I have a 4" drop with pancake stops in there. They will bottom out, but only under extreme bumps. I also run stock sized airshocks out back (for towing and hauling) but use shock extenders to keep the stock sized shock in there without lifting the rear.
