Default Possible slipping already?

My dad has a '00 silverado that I will soon be getting and I have a question. It's an ECSB Z71 with the 5.3 in it and just a bit over 90k on it. I drove it the other day and now I have a question. At like 65mph I stepped on the gas and went through the 2-3 shift, and it felt like it slipped a little bit. It sounded like the rpms rose a bit and then went down instead of just going straight down in the next gear. Is it possible the 2-3 shift is starting to slip? It feels 100% normal driving normally, I only noticed it at WOT like that.

Another thing is, he told me he would get anything wrong fixed before I got it from him, so if there is anything wrong would the dealer be able to tell (since it is fine under normal acceleration)? That would really be the only thing that needed to be fixed if it does. How much would something like that possibly cost to fix too?

Thanks guys

yea it's starting to let go of 2nd. Mine started that a few weeks ago.
90-100k is about right on those 4l60e's. some sooner some later.
I'd have him holler at our sponsors on he right. I just ordered a stage 4 from Finish Line and i can't wait for it to come in.

as for fixing.. the only way to fix it is to rebuild it or buy a new one. anywhere from 1k to 2k.

Ouch. Would the dealer do that? Probably really expensive from them though...

I'd imagine the dealer would be around 1500 to 2k depending on labor pricing in your area. I don't take mine to a dealer so i can't say for sure.
Just call em up and ask what it costs to rebuild a 4l60E for a '00 silverado 4x4.

FWIW, I'm having my 4L60 rebuilt locally at ~135K. The shop says usually about $1200 but I'm replacing the planetary gearsets and using 'better' components so it's running closer to $2K.

He said it was the 2-3 shift, not the 1-2 that a vette servo might help a little.

I was really surprised when I felt it actually because other than this that truck has been 100% dependable and had nothing go wrong at all. And our old 2002 suburban that we used to have has like 150k on it now and it's still running strong with nothing wrong (we sold it to my aunt and uncle in colorado, so we know how it's doing still. Now it's been going up and down mountains for a year too and still just fine).

I'll probably take it to a transmission place here locally that i went to before. The guy was really nice there and it seemed like a good place so I'll try to get over there and see what they have to say. Is there any way that it isn't something big that will cost like $1000+ to fix? Or is that basically all it could be at this point?
