Default ok so getting gears for bday.

my gf doesnt kno what to get me so i said hey how about gears. she said ok as long as its not too expensive.. so im thinking precision ring and pinion set for $185 does that sound good? im getting 373s, any kno how much install is gonna be? and what size do i need to get 8.5 right?

Installs usually go from anywhere from 300 to 500 bucks. i paid 450 from a very reputable shop.

There is a shop down here that does it for like $175 I think...

Will pay anywhere from $200-$300 for install labor. Gears are between $150-$200. Remember you also have oil, install kit (shims, bearings, etc.) which can be another $100-$150. Price it all out. Gears are a good mod but they are not "cheap" .

I went from 3:42 to 4:10 gears, and it was a remarkable difference. I don't think going to 3:73 would be worth the time IMO. I paid $700 for everything including gears at a shop in Baytown, TX.
