you want to buy a kiesler shifter relocation kit. it moves the shifter foward and puts it within an inch of the stock shifter location. I have a picture of the trans, with this done but i do not have an interior shot picture. I also have the drive shaft you need if you want to buy it. I do not have the yoke though.

Ed, did you do the relocation yourself or did you take it to a trany shop for them to take it apart. I know it can get a bit tedious inside there and the kit is expencive but I need to do it to mine.
Thanks
Dave

thanks for that. I had mine rebuilt but didn't have or was not aware of the kit at the time so I hate to take it back for them to tear apart. It looks pretty complicated so Im not sure I want to tackle it.
Oh thanks for your service. it is appreciated.

Great thread!!!! It hasn't been updated in about 8 days so I'll put my project up here..

I've been pouring over this for the last week. My swap will be a bit different, I'm going to have to run a front shift conversion due to the fact I'm going to tackle the 4x4 T56 from RSGear. I have put a call in to them today to verify that he can do the front shift relocation with a GTO instead of an F-body T56. Image below isn't mine but is a decent picture that shows what the rear housing + adapter looks like

Transplant is an 03 SSS, I was thinking about building something similar to this to maintain the sweet console shifter

Thoughts?

What clutch are you planning on running?

That pic looks like it is for a TrailBlazer!?

Mcleod twin RST or RXT with their flywheel.

Pic is from something random I found, its for representation sake

GTO starter came with trans (only $65!)

I also have a T76 turbo kit for NBS just need to fab the cold side, was going to go 80E but this seems so much cooler

Default relocation

Can you use the forward shift relocation kit with the t56 in a rcsb and not have to swap in the console and do the "cutout" stuff?
