Cover is like this one and has jack bolts against the differential bearing caps to help keep them in place.

I originally was gonna toss in a 14B when I did the swap, but after a year or so of studying up on all this crap I've been amazed at what the ol' 10B can handle. Toss in a quality diff, which for me will be a truetrac, put on that heavy aluminum cover, preload the bearing caps, and you're set.

Right on...
My goal here isn't a track truck either...I just want a fun street truck. I also want to be able to tow or fill the box with a load of gravel or bricks or what have you and drive to my destination. Not looking for something that does 0-60 under 3 seconds and posts 9.XX 1/4 times...I'll buy an F-body for that, if I am ever so inclined.

If the vibe is dependent on wheel speed and not engine speed, then I'd say that eliminates your engine/tranny combo. I'd focus on the driveshaft, wheels outta balance, etc.

I would be looking at the drive shaft. Especially if you had it modified.

its been way to many years i been wanting to do this. im gonna slowwly get the parts together to swap a t56 in the SS. i plan on doing a rebuild with a camaro spec'd t56. this thread is awesome and i feel as if i know all i need to know to complete this.

im just wondering if the DBW has caused any problems with getting the cruise to work. i run a 275-45-20 so im gonna go with the 4.88's and a ls7 clutch. it should take bolt on 6.0 with a 150 shot.. lol i hope

Damn what a lot of reading Ok guys, I have a 06 CC. I have a 04 GTO t56 laying around I want to put in my CC. This is my daily and I do (not very often)tow less than 5000lbs with it. The rear end needs built right now as it whines like ****. 4:56's and a trutrac is what I am thinking?

I guess the real question is will I be happy if I do the following. I just want to make my daily driver a little more fun to drive and still be able to use it as a truck when needed. Here are the plans.

It has a 5.3 and I want to do the following: Cam, headers, exhaust, tune, t56, gears, locker. I would love to put a lq9 in it but I don't have the funds for that right now but I intend on doing a motor swap down the road and put the 5.3 in my 86 k10.

Will it be worth it?

Thanks guys for all the info in this thread!!!!

I guess the reluctor is 42 count according to joey at tick. I had them put the correct reluctor on mine when building it for my truck, trying to get some pictures. I also am using the kieseler shifter relocation set up. again awaiting pictures

Hmmm....tuning cannot take care of that??
Or is the speedo a combo of ECM/BCM function?
