Default Newb with a Muncie tranny ?

I have a 2005 Joe Gibbs Edition Chevy Silverado it has the Muncie 5 speed with the hurst shifter. I have only had this truck a few months and am new to the performance truck scene. My question is when the truck is in 5th the tranny makes a whining sound. Is this common for the muncie? Like I said I am new so please bear with me. The truck shifts fine, runs awesome but the whining concerns me.

Who put a Muncie in it???

Did you check the fluid condition and level???

Most likely its a bearing or a synchro within the case, could also be a worn 5th gear.

I guess checking the fluid level would be a good place to start. Maggie?

Yeah it doesn't have a Maggie, lol, I told u I was new. I think I got ripped cause there is no maggie. I think the guy I swapped trucks with, took it off. So the whining is definitely the tranny.

Not all trucks had the Magna charger just like not all trucks got the front bumper. In 05 they had different packages.
