Default new trans not running right

long story short i just put a 6.0 in a obs chevy with a FLT 4l65e here is the thread about it: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=443736

i just got everything in and tried to drive it but in D the engine winds up to almost max rpm and then the truck lurches forwards like someone is on the brakes which i checked and seem to be working. you have to floor it and then it will crawl along i got it to go up the street but it was struggling really bad the whole time. it could almost be a "limp" mode or something but it feels like hardware. in 1 the truck stalls if you try to give it gas it feels like the tranny is totally siezed. reverse kind of works but still has to ramp up to get anywhere. its basically acting like my friends old buick after 400 neutral drops. what could be causing this?! the tranny cooler gets hot so i know its pumping fluid to it. i added 11 quarts to the tranny and 1 to the TC and i was still able to turn the TC before i bolted it to the flywheel so i know its not binding or anything like that.

is it because the computer still thinks i have a 4l80e?

is there anything i could be missing that would make it act like this? i will call FLT on monday but i wonder if theres something simple i missed. thanks!

if you have the 4l80e tune in it, that is probably it!

Do you have efi live? if so, post up the tune.

the computer came from a truck with a 4l80e, i had slowhawk mess with it but i dont think he changed the tranny settings? im not sure its been over a month since then. he has efi live so i can get a copy of the tune when i see him again. can you easily switch the transmission from a 4l80 to 4l65 in efi live or do i need a dealer to do that

It takes literally 10 seconds to do it. I'd highly recommend you get EFI live yourself. It's a great investment so that you know what's going on with your truck at all times.

i'd like to get it but i would be worried about blowing something if i made lots of adjustments. how much is it for a single vehicle? (or is it vehicle type)

It's $550 for efi live V1. Even if you not making major adjustments, it's good to be able to monitor your truck and hell, before I got it I had no clue my engine was running so poorly, I thought everything was fine. Also, there's a lot of adjustments you can make to suit your driving style that have no chance of blowing your engine...like trans settings - shift times, torque management, etc. Recently I turned off deceleration fuel cut off b/c I don't like the engine brake feeling

i just looked it up i think i might get it sooner or later it seems like a great tool.

so there is definitely a different setup electrically between the two transmissions that would cause mine to totally not work and a tune will make it act normal?

yes yes yes. The 4l80e uses an extra speed sensor that the 4l60e doesn't even have. I'm amazed your truck even moved with the 4l80e tune.
