New Tranny Shift Questions
#1
Back in october my tranny went out...i had planned on having the truck for a while so i just got a brand new tranny from GM to put in it, now i am thinking of getting rid of the truck and i have been driving truck past couple days and it seems to hesitate between 2-3. the tranny has just under 4K on it...it seems to shift hard 1-2 but hesitate 2-3 i think shift points need changing or would it be something else?
there is no way it could be clutches i mean i never drive it and i am NEVER hard on it..i have probably only got on it 3 times since i put new tranny in back in Oct. i just dont want something to be bad wrong with it and i sale it and i look bad bc i dont want to do someone wrong but i think i might have the shift points adjusted
any other ideas? thanks in advance

i forgot to mention that it only hesitates or RPM shoot up if you are about 2k RPMs or higher..then it wants to shoot up to about 3k rpm..any advice would be helpful
and the tranny has a GM warranty on it

yeah true..but i am too easy on it and never drive it..but on the way back from work today i kinda got into it some and put on tow/haul and shifted like a dream..i am kinda confused..i watched it and if you are a 2500 when it wants to shift to 3rd is when it kicks up to bout 3000 rpms, but with tow/haul it doesnt do it at all..

my 4L60 used to act up similar to this, but it never really did it consistently, sometimes when it was hot, sometimes when it was cold. I added a cooler and with that a fluid and filter change and it sorted out.
I have a feeling it was something different for you, since the trans was brand new, I'm not sure. Good to hear it's sorted though.

could be slipping only when it's warmed up and the fluid thins out. Just because you never drive it doesn't mean anything. If it's a qt low you could burn up clutches in just a few minutes. get it hot and see how it acts. also once its warmed up check the fluid. If it's low fill it back up and take it in if its slipping.

Yeah first thing I did was ck fluid..it was fine and just to double ck myself when I had the oil changed I had them ck it too and I've checked 10 or more times since then that's def not the problem but idk I appreciate the help but it acts fine now especially when it's warmed up
