Default New stall?

I have a 2004 gmc sierra ext cab 4x4 on 33' tires. the trucks bolted nelsons tuned with a tr 220 cam on a 114 lsa. Im wanting to get a Stall 3000-3200 i dont tow much if any. I do already have a trans cooler and vette servos my question is idk what one to get?

Circle D Specialties High Performance Torque Converter 278mm for GM Truck 4L60 LS

Roadrunner Converters

the reason for the 2nd one is there local but i know cir-d has a great rep...

Never heard of the Roadrunner if it is local then you should find people that actually run them on the track and daily drive them, I think I might have helped you out before IIRC.

I would get a Circle D 3200 or an FTI 3200 IMO if you were sticking with the 278mm. The FTI street brawler 278mm 3200rpm is only $349. FTI is a very good converter / trans company and they are praised on the sister site ls1tech.

Run the Circle D. It's what I'm running, it's street friendly, and you retain the ability to tow up to 4,000 lbs.

EDIT: Check the local place out. Talk to some people that are running their stall and see how they do in a DD setup. If the converter is loose, it probably won't be the best for DDing. The Circle-D is a tight stall, so you don't actually have to turn 3k to get moving.

The Roadrunner would be fine if you're not planning on any power adders. I had one with a TVS1900 on a 5.3 and it ballooned, tore up the thrust bearing. It felt good though, similar to a Yank. Past a cam and long tubes though, I would get something with a billet cover.

The FTI has actually dropped to $339. Emailed the them a couple weeks ago about a 3200 and thats the price they quoted me.

Nice lol, you can't beat that converter for the price.

Just go with the Circle-D or FTI. Why turn around and replace the stall if you decide to do anything that it can't handle?
