Default new performabuilt trans and still the same problem wth is goin on

Before my other trans died my truck would drive fine SOMETIMES then sometime you could gas on it and befor you hit 25mph it would be in 0/d and the converter will start trying to lock and bog the motor down and unlock usually three or 4 times then when you get up to speed it won't lock at all. Well today I drove my truck for the 2nd time since I swapped in a 6.0 and pb lvl2 and 10.5 billet converter and its doin the same thing again. The only thing I can think of is the speed sensor or somthing in the transfer case causing it to do this I haven't a clue and I'm so tired of working on the damn thing I'm about ready to set it on fire.. What could it be? The service 4x4 light is on and has been on for like the last year on and off but its never been a problem really. What in the transfercase could cause this? I really need some help fellas I wanna get this thing back running and don't wanna fry my brand new trans and converter

Thanx,
Garrett

The service 4wd message is probably the encoder motor sensor or the pushbutton switch if you have it. Push button is pretty common, but the encoder motor sensor is also pretty common. In my case I replaced the button first and it ended up being the sensor.

I don't know about your trans, sorry.

Well me and aj are thinking it might be the maf an I unplugged it and drove for alittle bit and it was fine but it happens randomly so I'm gunna leave it unplugged and see if its fine for a while. If so I will replace the maf.

I think the incoder sensor might be it and I will fix that here soon

Just in case you need them here are the part numbers for the encoder sensor (88962315) and gasket for the encoder motor housing (12384990). Both are GM numbers.

maybe some misfires not throwing a code are causing the converter to lock and unlock

misfire will cause it not to lock up. but wont cause it to lock and unlock. who does your tuning? may have them look at the tune to see if there is a problem.

Pretty sure its gunna be the maf because it only does it once it gets warmed up but I don't think she's misfiring.

It will shift to o/d before you even hit 25mph and then the converter will lock and unlock 3-4 times.. Then just stay unlocked.. Frank said its either gunna be the maf lost calibration or the tps sensor.. I'm gunna drive it a while with the maf unpligged and see if that's it.

Justin at blackbear does my tuning
