The guy that supplys my tunes has been unable to send me a tune that does not throw codes that indicate that the computer is looking for the 4l60e.

After about 8 tries it still throws codes 0745 and 0780.

Now the truck starts out in second gear and does not shift on it's own but... if I shift the lever from D to 3 nothing happens but when I shift from 3 to 2 the trans shifts up from second to third.

That's right. It does not shift on it's own and it always begins in second gear but when hand shifted from 3 to 2 it shifts from 2 to 3.

The truck has been sitting for a month trying to get my tune supplier to send me a tune that will run the engine and will work with the 4l80e.

Who will supply a tune other than AJ? I have an unlocked pcm and I have HP Tuner.

I have a guy to help me that knows about computers but he knows very little about automotive computers and I know nothing about computers of any kind.

I need help. Neither of us knows how to install a partial tune, like just the engine or just the trans segment. I think maybe I need to send a email log to someone so they can get my engine tune and then add the 4l80 to it and get rid of whatever is causing my pcm to throw those codes.

Have you tried EC_Tune (I think thats his SC) over on the HPTuners boards? He's a segment swap guru for HPTuners.

I would contact either Allan @http://www.nelsonperformance.com/ or Charley @ http://www.gowheatley.com/ to get a tune for your truck. These guy's are sponsors here and really know their stuff. Vince

make sure your doing a write-entire for the new tune, writing calibration only will not install the 80e segment.

Send me your most current engine tune. I'll make a 4l80e version THAT WILL WORK! I've done a few for others on this board aswell...

I had what appears to be a unique problem. I had a 5.3 with a 4l80e and nobody had developed a hp tune which married those those engines and transmissions.

Dusty Wilde found a guy who could combine those two components in a tune on EFI Live and then copy them to HP. He did that and my problems were solved.
