Default Need Help Tranny Question

(1.)When i drive the truck normal all the gears go thru and the converter locks like it should.(2nd)when i punch it from a 20-30 the RPM's hit the rev limiter easily.(3rd)but when i punch it from a 50-60 at that time the converter has locked it dosent hit the rev limiter it just moves.
so basically it hits rev limiter anywhere before the converter locks which locks around 45-55mph.

they say it might be the tune or the tranny.

What can it be

1st of all, you shouldn't be hitting the limiter at all. If so, you need to get your shift points changed or your limit changed.

Because it shifts down to 1st gear and you are already half way to the limit

You may or may not be downshifting into 2nd, but either way, do you realize how fast you need to go in order to get the rpms to the limit point? And are you actually going that fast?

Or, maybe I just don't understand what you are really asking.

I would have to guess your rev limiter is to low. You may have to bump it up a couple hundred rpm. Where is it set now?
