Default need help on finding the year of my 4l80e

Most of the electronics show 93-2003 and 2004 up. I need help finding how to determine the year of my tranny. I was told the tranny came out of an 04 but I do not know what to look at to determine what year the tranny was made. The tranny came out of a burnt truck so the (MLP) switch is burnt and needs replace as well as all sensors and internal wiring harness. Only the out side of the electronics had damage, the conectors were melted but no damage inside. Please help if you can.

Take a look at pics of moregrip's transmission here. You'll see there is a little yellow tag attached to the passenger rear side of the tranny. I believe (I am not certain) that the first 2 numbers are the year the transmission was manufactured. In moregrip's case its 05. My tranny has 01 for the first 2 numbers and it was also advertised as an 01 when I purchased it. When you get your tranny apart check the roller clutch setup... if its the newer design then your tranny was built after 3/01. FWIW, although my tranny is a 2001 it still had the older design roller clutch in it. I elected to keep that in place as Vince told me he has seen both designs fail... I would assume under extreme conditions of course... but I didn't want to spend more money on the newest design if the odds were the same.

FWIW, my 01 had 70k miles... and I did not have to do bushings. Hopefully all your hard parts are in great shape too.
