Default need help from 4/6 drop guys.....

Okay I finally got a set of 17" eccalade wheels and I put them on and the tire is too big... 265/70/17...which would be okay if I did not have the 4/6 drop. I know there are some guys running this drop with these wheels could you chime in and help a brother out!!! What tire size are you running and do they rub.....?

It's not the tire, it is probably the offset of the rim causing it to stick out more.

are you hitting wheel wells or top of fenders, need a little more info,

that is a tall tire 31.6" my truck had 30.5 and alot of lowered setups are around 29" or less

I ran stockers on mine and they didn't rub. I am fairly certain tire size was a 255/70/16, pretty sure it was right around 30" tall. If like said, and your tires are 31.6" tall, then more than likely dropping to around a 29-30" tall tire should do the trick if you still want to tuck some tire

With it being a set of stockers, the offset should be fine. Factory wheels usually have a high offset and tuck a lot. I would just about guarantee he is hitting the top of the fender, not the fender lip.

i've got the same problem when i go 4/6 in a couple weeks, except im rubbing the lip and im not sure how to go around it since you can't roll plastic (stepside) and it doesn't look like i can cut much because of the bedside supports...

Sorry, the spelling (eccalade) led me to believe these were aftermarket rims. I just figured it out.

they are the stock 17" chrome stockers off of a friends 05 escalade. and it seems to rub when I turn. It also rubs if I hit a bump. I was thinking 275/55 or 255/60 or even a 265/65 but I am no good at this......My 275/40/20's ride great.....also I need to put in the spring spacer on the driver side to help level it out!

Here's from my experience:
I ran stock 31.6" tires and I couldn't move more than a 1/4 turn of my wheel. I couldn't even back out of my driveway, because the 1" lip caused the suspension to cycle and rub.

I currently run a 29" tire(255/55/18). I would recommend something between a 29-30" tire. You could always go smaller but I wouldn't go bigger than that.

so then a 275/60/17 would be good....that would be 30".....without leaving a big gap b/t the fender and the tire.
