Added fluid and cranked it, same noise. I did put it in reverse and drive to make sure nothing was bound up. Pulled the starter and converter bolts. I have a 1/4 inch gap between flexplate and verter. I'm thinking thats the problem!

Shimmed the converter and added 4 more quarts and took it for a test drive and seems to be all good. Gona take some getting use to the converter
