Default Is my trans fubar?

Ok so i lost 2nd gear in my truck. bought a 4.8 and 4l60 with harness and ecu from totaled 03 truck.

Installed transgo hd2 kit and vette servo in replacement trans. also pulled the pump and looked at the band and clutches, had a tough time getting the pump back in but it finally went in.

also flushed lines and tru cool 40k

Just finished puttin the trans in and filled my new circle d 3200 stall with about a quart of fluid and then added aprox 4-5 quarts down the dipstick.

fired it up and its making this clicking/clanking noise! i shut it off imediatly. is there something screwed up or does fluid need time to start flowing?

thanks

Shouldn't make any noise on startup... I wouldn't doubt it has something to do with the difficulty reinstalling that pump.

Wouldn't make any noise if everything is reassemblied correctly.

just being a 4L60 means you're screwed!

i'm with the other guys: take it back apart to make sure nothing broke in the process & make sure when you reinstall it, everything goes back together without a fuss. if you're having an unusually difficult time with fitment, dig around to find what's causing the hangup or obstruction.

Think the pump hangup was from leaving the bellhousing on.
Im Thinking it may be I needed to shim the verter

Maybe you re-installed some of the valve body bolts wrong? If some are in the wrong spot they can protrude into the case hitting internal parts...worth double checking.

Check to make sure you have clearance on the converter/flexplate bolts. Sounds like you also need some more fluid. Capacity is ~8qts with converter.
