That explains a lot! I thought that was going to be your response. The parts I have are for the 8.5 and all of the techs I talked to on the phone are retards! I have talked to a dozen or more people and no one could explain why my stuff wasn't fitting. They all assumed I had an 8.5 because of the year.

It has to be machined to fit.

I had the 8.6 rearend. The 8.5 has 3" windows in the carrier and the 8.6 has 2 3/4 windows in it and has smaller spider gears.

Curious, did you ever call Moser about this?

I did call moser and they said I had the right part. They never asked any questions about the truck or the rearend they just assumed I had the 8.5 and said it would fit.

I even sent them the same pics that I posted here and they even went as far as getting an old carrier and mini spool (so they said) and still nothing worked.

Dirt track racer will get u goin. He runs a mini spool also and had to machine his to fit. 50 bux is a pretty good price and assurance in it fitting. Hit him up.

I have already fixed my truck. If it wasn't my daily driver I would have had the machine work done but I was stuck between a rock and a hard place as they like to say. I had to put in a new set of spiders for now.

My carrier was an open carrier. Let me know if I can machine it for you. $50 plus shipping back to ya.
Are you still machining these mini spools to fit 8.6?
