Default More Lowering Questions

I got Belltech 3 inch lowering shackles ( I asked for 2 inch). Any way I installed those, and took 6 turns out of the torsion bar adjusting bolt.
Before

After

The front was lowered about 1 1/2 inches. What is the best way to lower the front 2 more inches ?

How do these lowering keys work?

Will I have to change my shocks if I lower the truck 2 more inches ?
If so what kind of problem does it create, since I have these type of shocks?

I can push this button and change the dampening.

Pushing the button firms up the ride.

I know what your thinking. Why is he lowering a 4X4.
Because I went to the Chevy dealer to buy this truck.

But when the salesman told me they are not AWD for 2006, I almost cried, I gotta have 4wd, so I got a crewcab Silverado, 6.0 Vortec. And I'll make my own SS truck.

I'm gonna say that 2" drop spindles is the only way to get more and not have to change shocks and other stuff.

I don't know exactly how the keys work, but either using keys or spindles will drop the front more. As far as I know, anything more than a 2/4 drop will require new shocks. With the shocks you have I wouldn't know where to begin.

The torsion keys allow you to crank down your torsion bar up or down. Sylinconcepts sells them where you can adjust the height to 1" or 3". You can try those out and see how you like the ride.

Are you sure your shackles are 3"? I've only seen 2" drop shackles but I missed out if there is 3" inch shackles available.

I lowered my 04 tahoe about 2 1/2" in front with new torsion keys. The thing is, you can only go so far with torsion keys before running into alignment issues. You'll have to go with control arms and/or spindles to get it lower and be able to align properly. As for shocks, I recommend you get new (shorter) if you go lower than 3".

On the box the shackles came in it says 1 t0 3 inch. I assumed I could use the next hole down for a 2 inch lift. But the leaf spring and the shackle hit and I can't get the bolt to go through.

But I'm OK with the 3 inch drop.
My new U bolts will be here next week, and I will loose these 2 inch blocks.

Should I get the cone shaped bumpstops for the rear?

So if I get the torsion keys, and drooped the front 2 1/2 inches that would be perfect.

What do you think.

As far as the dropping the front goes, DJM has a setup specifically for 4wd trucks, they have 3" drop control arms, and they are adjustable b/c of the torsion bars... that is what i'm about to do with my truck. I think the control arms are about $380 for both... good luck!
