Default Messed up pretty good...

Alright so i was changing my tailhousing seal on the back because it was leaking. but when i was pulling the old seal my seal puller decided it did quite like aluminum and left a gouge on the bottom of the hole where the seal presses in... So now its leaking more then before... Whats my next move? order a new tailhousing? take the driveshaft off and try a new seal? This was my first time doing this so any tips would be appreciated.

If you can take it off, take it off. Hit it with sand paper where you gauged it to take the high spot off. When you install it, put a bead of RTV sealant on the lip where the seal rides and it won't leak.

^Good advise for sure.^ One of the issues when you gouge an area where a seal is installed it creates a high spot. This actually bends the metal clad seal as its installed and does not allow a clean sealing surface as you very well know now! You can use some silicone like mentioned or replace the housing. If you interested I have a couple laying around that I'm willing to part with. HTH Vince
