Lowering a 4wd question
#1
I'm going to be helping a buddy lower his 04 gmc 4wd ecsb and were trying to figure out the best way to do it (control arm, Keys, spindles), and also how low we can go with out major mods.

what do you mean by major mods
up front you can do control arms, spindles, torsion bar keys, all of those together will net about 6-7" depending on how much the tbars are cranked
and in the rear you can do what ever you can to the 2wd version + take out the lift block and add 2wd ubolts which is shackles, hangars, !liftblocks, 4" lowering springs, that is 10" altogether right there or go with a flip kit and 2" lifting shackles(turn into lowering shackles when on flip kit) and take out liftblocks for 8"

4-6 from a 4wd stance is 2/4 from 2wd stance since our trucks sit 2" higher then 2wd... so basically get a 2/4 drop kit, and remove the lift blocks in the rear and slap on stock 2wd ubolts, spindles up front and decrank the keys a lil till your level. if you go anymore in the rear yes you need to notch it, im 6/8 4wd or a 4/6 2wd stance right now.
