Lower 4X4?
#11
I used 2wd drive u-bolts and removed the lift blocks, Belltech 6400 shackles, and loosened the torsion bars. Netted me 2-3" front and 4" in the rear.
I have a thread floating around here somewhere.

This is kinda funny. A couple years ago I thought it was crazy to lower a 4x4 truck. After seeing parish's truck run and all the lowered 4x4's on this site, it makes perfect sense to lower a 4x4.

Yeah, I'm not going to slam it down. I have 6" and 8" of space between the wheels and fenders front+ rear so a 2/3 drop should just be enough drop to cover the tires but still have good ground clearance.

I'm about to do the 3" lowering control arms from DJM and if I can find hangers that will work, i will do that in the back and that will be perfect for my 4wd! Yea, when i was telling people around where i live that i was going to lower my truck, everyone thought i was stupid! But it's good to i'm not the only "stupid" one out there!

Paid for the parts on order yesterday.
Going with Belltech 2" drop spindles, shackles and hangars to get me down 2/3.
Yeah, when i tell people i want to drop my 4x4 they're confused! I guess if I take off the Z71 stickers they'll think it looks right then.

Belltech huh? They also said they didn't have hangers for 4wd... mmm, I may have to give them a call back. Yea, my truck doesn't have any Z-71 stickers and most people that just glance at it think that it is a 2wd... and I try to just leave it at that...

I dont think there is any difference from a 2wd in the rear.

Are your hangers rivited on? Most aftermarket hangers I've seen are bolted on and my hangers a rivited, I think that may be the difference they are talking about... there was an article in truckin' awhile back about removing rivited hangers or something, I'll have to investigate.
