Default Lower 4X4?

What is the best way to lower my truck? I'm thinkin a 2/3 or 2/4 drop. Spindles in the front-but what about the rear? Will my truck handle as good, or better? Wheel clearance with the 265/70/17's?
Antone else lower their 4x4?
Pics and details on drop appreciated.

I'd start by removing the blocks in the rear and adjusting the t-bars, then see where you're at.

That's what I did. !Blocks and 5 turns out on the T-bars, but I have 275/60/16 (28" tall) Tires. I really like my stance

You should be able to get a 2/4 out of it no problem. McGaughy's makes a quality kit, not sure if it will work with 17" rims though. I would start with torsion keys up front and shackles in te rear.

Do a search for budhayes3's truck. He just did a 2/4 on his Z71 this spring. He used BellTech keys for the front and shackles and removed the lift blocks in the back. It has a really nice stance.

I used shackles in the rear, and loosened the tbars in the front. I didnt like how it handled, but when I did the spring clamps I got most of the ride quality back.

I lowered my 4 X 4. The front was lowered 2 inches with belltech keys, and the rear was lowered 5 inches, by removing the lift blocks, and installing Belltech 3 inch shackles. I'm going to raise the back up 1 inch, by changing from a 3 to 2 inch shackle. The rear is to low,and i hit the bumpstops, on small bumps in the road.
The truck handles better, it feels firmer on acceleration and stopping.

I am happy with lowering the truck, and love the way it looks. Now I'm saving money for wheels.

Yeah, that's why i'm thinking spindle drop. I want all of my ride and better handling performance. Where can i find just the parts to lower the rear?

You can get the shackles from Summit, or possibly one of the sponsors such as Stylin Concepts. You'll need 2wd U-bolts after removing the lift blocks, which you can get from the dealership or possibly GMpartsDirect. I also used the Belltech keys and trimmed the front bumpstops (well, I over-trimmed the originals and ordered new ones which I trimmed properly and made a world of difference...it was like I installed a new front sway bar lol). I think some shorter shocks would help even more. The truck corners nice and rides great on flat roads, but is a bit stiff over bumps and washboard type surfaces. IMO it's a fair trade-off for the new stance, it's like a completely different truck.

I ended up with about a 2/4 to 3/4 drop all in all (not sure how much the front came down...somewhere between 2.5 to 2.75"...I had 33" AT's before, and the 285/50-20 Toyo's are 31")

(more pics on my cardomain site, link's in my sig)
