Stock rotors are best for stock diameter. Slotted and/or drilled rotors (i.e. Powerslots) give you less surface area on a rotor that has less strength than a stock rotor.

GDIR gave a good rec on pads - Hawk HPS.

Go with some Hawk HPS pads and a complete set of stainless steel lines to replace your rubber brake lines.

Stainless Steel Brake

I hate the brakes on my truck. They pulse/shimmy, pedal is soft, and don't stop well. Someday hope to have 18" wheels and the larger calipers, and rotors on all 4 corners.

I just replaced all four, went with Brembo Slotted rotors and hawk cermaic pads, the truck stops so fast, I feels likesomething is going to snap in the front end, I thought my 96 Caprice with 9C1 Police package could brake hard but nothing like this!!!!!!!!. picked all the parts from TireRack.
