Locker or Truetrac???
#1
I have a 2005 RCSB Silverado with a 5.3L auto, 3:73 gears...I plan on putting a supercharger on it, with some goodies to get to about 500hp
...I drive my truck year round in rain, snow, etc. Should I go with a Detroit Locker or the Truetrac? Why or Why not?

if you drive in snow I dont' recommend a Detroit Locker. They mechanically lock and require a significant amount of friction under the rear tires to unlock it in a curve. Heck they are dangerous even in rain. I highly recomment Truetrac #1 then Eaton #2 having owned them both. The Truetrac uses no clutches and is a worm gear design and acts like an open differential around a curve. I've never driven either in snow but i'd imagine the Eaton clutches would have a hard time unlocking as well. But i'm sure there is plenty of guys one here that have driven them in snow to give better feedback.
