Default Late 02=03

The metal bracket thing on the rear of my brake pads came off and it started making a bad some what grinding sound so I bought a set of pads a went home to change them. BUT they did not fit and the guy at the parts store told me all gm suv's had the same brake pads, escalade, denili (spell check) tahoe etc... so after going to car quest and 3 advances I say screw this crap and took it to a shop and did not tell them my problem just to see if I was just too retarted to get a set of pads on.

Well they come back sayin wtf the pads called for this year does not work. Then another guy said to try pads from 03+ and what do ya know, they fit! So I learned something that day but now my brakes are making the same noise again and im gettin pissed. What else could cause that noise. Its so agravating driving in town cause you can hear the noise bouncing back from the buildings. Now I also wonder what is different about my tahoe from a regular 02. Mine is a 2002 tahoe that has a 2003 brake setup??? I was told that it was made late in 02 so they must have used 2003 parts on it. IM LOST!
