I have a pair of Borla XR-1 oval mufflers, dimensions are 16'' x 4-1/2'' x 7.88''. These were bought brand new last winter, and sat on a shelf until I installed them in May. They were ran for maybe 50 miles at the absolute most! I used band clamps to install them, and switched to the round XR-1's, only because I want to copy Skeet's old side exit exhaust. The bad part is, one of the mufflers is dented, and to be 100% honest, it came that way. I didn't open the boxes upon arrival, so by the time I saw it was damaged, it was too late to make any claims with Jegs or Borla. They still flow perfect and sound amazing!
