Default JGP RCSB rides rough. Is this normal?

I know it has the JGP HD gas shocks, but I'm not sure if the front has been lowered. I crawled up under it and noticed the bump stop bottomed on one side and this one cocked and in a bind. Should I cut one of the sections?

TIA

whoa!

I wouldnt cut it, but I would jack the truck up and put it back in its place, and check it every once in a while to make sure it didnt do that again. And if it does, take it to the dealership.

You need to get that to the dealer. I dont think they drop them more than an inch....That looks like its a problem, even my 2/4 did not come that close to the bump stops.

I'm not sure if they changed them or not. I'll try to look at some of the ones in the parking lot where I work.

I knew JGP lower the rear and added HD gas shocks, but I didn't think the front was lowered. My truck is just a normal NA 5.3.

I know this thing is a rough rider though.

On my 2wd truck, the front bumpstop looks nothing like that.... it's not the slinky looking one like you're showing, it looks like a miniature upsidedown trunk (like you would have in a room in your house). Or an upsidedown bite sized dove chocalate bar. (If that makes sense) The style bumpstop you have on the front of your truck looks like the ones over my rear axle. Could JGP have put the wrong bumpstop in the front? If they did, they're a bunch of dumbasses.

My bump stop looks just like that one and rides rough. A friend of mine has a truck identical to mine, I mean identical except his isn't a JGP. His rides nice and smooth but handles like crap. Mine will carve a corner or two pretty well. I like it. I'll have to look at his bump stops and see what he has. Maybe JGP lowers the front a hair. I personally wouldn't mess with the bum stop. It will probably just slip out again. Hell, maybe it is supposed to be like that.

Found your problem dude, for some reason you have the 4wd version of the front jounce bumper on your truck. You need to crawl under the front of a standard 2wd work truck or base model like I have and you'll see it's a square rubber jounce bumper and not conical like the one you shown. I found a pic of a 4wd reg cab short box truck and notice how the frame rail is angled to point the jounce bumper towards the flat landing area of the upper a-frame? What is Joe Gibbs doing this for I wonder? This is how the style jounce bumper you have is supposed to be mounted on a 4wd......
