Default Install a 04 4l60e in a 99

My tranny is going I think. It's whinning between 35 to 55 and the check light gave tranny failure. There is a guys here who has a 4l60e out of an 04. I know everything will bolt up. Question is will I have to change my flywheel for the converter to bolt up.

I was under the impression that the trucks are the same from 99-06. I know the cross member in the 2000 trucks are different then what I have but everything else is the same. Isn't the trans in your truck now a 4l60E?

Yes I have a 4l60e now. The tranny I lookin at is yours 04GIBBS. You have the flywheel also? Just want all my info correct before I swap out. I have read about the spacer but it's for the 4l80e tranny swap correct.

Unfortunatley I just gave the flywheel and trans mount to another member who I purchased the 6 speed from. I have the complete trans and converter. With all connections in tact.

From what I have read here the crank end is longer on a 99 and a new model won't work. It may work if I changed the converter.

what? unless it's got a 6.0 in front of the transmission, it's not a 4L65E.

As I mentioned I have the complete setup and it should all bolt up to your 5.3 or 4.8.

99 up is the same drivetrain.
