Default Ring gear stripped - what needs replacing?

What all do I need to replace in there? Bearings or anything else? I was just going to order up another set of gears and a master install kit. The Eaton LSD appears to be ok, the casing of it is not cracked or damaged. Is it possible the carrier bearings will need replacing? How do you get those off?

You shouldn't need to replace anything if they look good. It isn't like you drove it down the road like that. You need to get you a new Pinion nut. Those things are notorious for backing off if you don't put a brand new one on.

I did have to drive it to the end of the track and back to the pits - about a mile maybe? The pinion nut doesn't normally come with the master install kit does it?

Yeah, the nut usually comes with it. If you get a master install kit(with brgs) for a 8.5 10 bolt the carrier brgs won't work. That is the only difference really about the 8.6.

I experienced that with my last install. The vendor sent the smaller OD carrier bearings.

just get the master install kit with new gears and you'll have everything you need (less gear oil)

My master install kit came with both carrier bearings, both pinion bearings. New ring gear bolts, shims, crush sleeve, pinion nut, and I think thats it
